I mean when mediocre losses weren't excused for against

mediocre teams or because they happened early in the season.

The goal of competition is to WIN. Maybe winning should be rewarded. Crazy thought, I know.

What's also hilarious is that if anyone has actually watched Bama this year, they are NOT the second best team in the country. They couldn't even get themselves lined up properly against Tennessee. They've looked less than elite, to be sure.

So no matter how you cut it -- based on record or the "eye test," Bama isn't elite.
